Memorial Day weekend is going to be a fun time in Glenwood Springs, Colorado this year. There is so much to do in Glenwood Springs on the long weekend. Or, of course, you can just enjoy the mountains and do nothing at all!
At the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, the annual Music on the Mountain series kicks off on May 27. Music on the Mountain is unique in that admission is basically free with a canned food donation that goes to the local charity LIFT-UP. Also, on May 27, The Caverns Summer Kick Off Party happens with fun and music from the Missing Link Band, who will perform a mix of dance rock, funk and groovy tunes. So, take the tram up the Iron Mountain for free with a canned food donation and enjoy some live music on the mountain. Isn’t it time for some beautiful scenery and some live music and all for a great charitable cause?
Another activity you might be interested in watching is the first White Water Rodeo of the year at the Glenwood Springs Whitewater Park on the Colorado River. Biking to the park is recommended because parking is very limited. You can enjoy some amazing Kayaking exhibitions on May 27th. Seating is limited so get there early and enjoy this very unique activity. With the heavy snowpack of the just concluded winter, the water flows for competitive kayaking should be impressive!
Model railroad fans will also be in town at the Glenwood Railroad Museum with trains running inside and outside the museum all weekend long!
Glenwood Springs is also a very pet friendly town. You will see many locals and visitors alike walking their dogs and playing in the parks.
