Hanging Lake may be the pinnacle of a couple’s hike, but it’s also a busy one as a result! Be sure to check out the visitor center page for permit and seasonal information. Despite the occasional crowds, it’s well worth the visit. Red Mountain is another option just to the west of town offering a moderate hike up switchbacked dirt roads and spectacular views of the city at the top. For a less vigorous experience, you can take the Glenwood Canyon Recreation trail by foot or bike up to 14 miles east along the Colorado River. Or try walking or biking on the Rio Grande Trail, which travels 42 miles all the way up the valley to Aspen!
Take you and your loved one on a tour through the Redstone Castle in the magnificent Crystal River Valley. The castle provides a unique glimpse into the personal styles and social culture of America’s elite at the turn of the 20th century. Learn about this turn-of-the-century jewel which was completed in 1902 for industrialist and coal magnate John Cleveland Osgood.
The guided tour is approximately an hour and a half long, but why end there? With the Redstone Castle being a secluded getaway, the great outdoors are at your doorstep. Continue your day with a nearby hike, go horseback riding, or visit a hot springs just down the road! Make your time in Glenwood Springs a memorable one by visiting the Redstone Castle.
Need to relax after a big day in the outdoors? Stop by one of Glenwood Springs’ three hot springs facilities for a relaxing soak or a massage with your partner. The famous Glenwood Hot Springs Pool is known for its enormous main pool, but offers a full range of spa services through the Spa of the Rockies on site, and has its own gift shop and food too. Iron Mountain Hot Springs is nearby as well, offering a series of hot pools at varying temperatures, a family pool, and causual food and drink. Yampah Spa and Vapor Caves is another great option featuring a rare natural geothermal steam bath and spa services.

Zachary F. says: "My fiancé and I came up to Glenwood Springs for our five year anniversary and were blown away at how beautiful the town was. Hotel Denver was a great place to stay. Coming from Denver we love our beer and it was awesome that the hotel had a brewery inside. The beer and food were very tasty and reasonably priced. What made our stay at Hotel Denver was the employees, their kindness and hospitality were beyond amazing. We forgot our day passes for the hot springs and the hotel staff went out of their way to drop them off for us so we could enjoy the hot springs. I definitely recommend staying here!"

Parking is included and available at an open-air lot across the street. Brewery and restaurant on site but a very short walk to a number of food dinner spots. Directly opposite Amtrak station but didn't hear any noise from it or the I-70 across the river."
